It’s definitely nice to have an active GM back in Buffalo. Good moves so far.

Took me forever to do Prospect clean up but glad I did no off season

Is retaining salary on trades something we can do? Asking for a friend...

Is retaining salary on trades something we can do? Asking for a friend... I'd say hard no based on the extra accounting it would bring. Would also open pandora's box for much different type of deal talks. But I'd def pay you top dollar if you could retain 50% of Panera Bread's dough

I gave up my 2 valuable Red Wings pieces in that trade - the ship will go down with Panarin captaining it if it has to!

Hopefully one of the sim updates eventually incorporates that. It would really open up trading.

Hopefully one of the sim updates eventually incorporates that. It would really open up trading. If this did happen we would see some CRAZY teams, and empty cap could be more valuable. Would lead to a lot more swings and a lot more hollowed out teams (which isnt a problem when the GMs are committed), but essentiallly you could have a team with a 200 mil payroll if the cards fell right.

Well then it is probably for the better!

And yet Tavares, Doughty and Kessel still can't find new homes

I guess I’m not surprised, but I don’t see how this trade is rejectable?
Jarnkrok last year was 69 OV with a 77 DF and 70 SC. This year he went down to 66 OV. Currently in the NHL he is on pace for 45 points and is going to rerate well defensively as usual. He plays all three forward positions and earns 1 million per year. Jarnkrok is 1 year younger than Cizikas.
Cizikas last year was 66 OV. This year he rerated well to 70 OV. It is hard to say how he will rerate as he is on pace for only 26 points but will rate well defensively again. He plays center only and makes 2 million per year.
I obviously want Cizikas for his ratings to anchor my third line this year, but it costs me a million in cap space and Jarnkrok who should be able to fit anywhere from second to third line next year at any forward position. Next year Cizikas will still be on my third line, but he’s not the type of player you an play in your top six and be successful. After the next half season I would easily prefer to have Jarnkrok. Hence the inclusion of the picks.
How is that so lop sides to warrant rejection votes (other than the fact the name San Jose is involved...)?
