In an arena filled with front-line medical personnel they still couldn't prevent the Leafs from choking. You hate to see it, but more than that, you love to see it.
Jokes aside, I think this series has shown 2 things. First is that Price is worth every single cent of his contract. Second is that both teams decided to add grit in different ways: MTL added cup winners (Perry, Staal, Edmunston) where Toronto filled it up with good ol'Toronto boys with no cups (Thorton, Foligno, Spezza, Simmonds) and 3rd pairing D Bogosian. Bringing in winners helps the mentality. Go figure.

When the Leafs and Oilers choke, it just makes me so happy.

How about those Toronto Maple Leafs.... Right? Sticking close to those Habs and Devil Rays. Kopitar is a machine this season.

He had jump and was a good pickup , the rest I totally agree with you.

This season was such a huge disappointment for the Flames, in terms of results, performance and our outlook going forward. Having Sutter back provided a little boost but overall I can't remember a time I have been this down on the team and with so little hope for us going forward, and I lived through the Young Guns Era!
The play-offs looked like they would be awful with the Leafs and Oilers likely battling to see who would get a gift spot in the final four so to see them both go out, especially how they did, was amazing. It doesn't make the bleak future of the Flames any better but at least it shuts up two of the most obnoxious fan and media bases in sports for a little while.

As the resident Leafs jerk I can say that yes we deserve it and yes this was an extra painful one. It hasn’t been fun to be in Ontario as I’m sure my fellow Albertans can second. So this was something like getting kicked in the nuts, and then while you’re clutching them in pain you get slapped.

They don't really have the best goaltending, I know that isn't their issue but I feel like looking at the team if they had someone solid back their who could steal them a game they could really go far.

Campbell had better stats than Price at the end of the series. Goal scoring was their failure.

There’s something about this Isles Bruins series that speak to everything I love about hockey. I wish they could play forever.

The Detroit Red Wings are SO back
Leddy and now Nedelkjovic - we won't be a dumpster fire next year!

Got to say, I was surprised to see Carolina move their future #1 goalie; but now Detroit has a good one.
From my part, WTF is Chuck "Chuckles" Fletcher freaking thinking??? I get that you need to clear some cap space, but to give away a player and 2 picks for nothing???
Trade guys like JVR or Voracek for players with lower contracts instead. Or at least get a prospect or a pick in return for a decent Dman, a 2nd rounder, and a 7th rounder.
The only good thing about the trade is that Ghost gets a fresh start on a new team.
If I am Hart, I would only sign for one year, and then ask to be traded if they can't figure their shit... Ellis alone is not going to help.

I think people are a bit too high on Nedelkjovic. He is still a big question mark IMO and we've seen MANY players like him in the past. Every year stats he has prior to this past season, are rather "meh", this year was an outlier.
I think he is still very unproven and could easily revert to being mediocre, I don't think signing him to a big contract when he has a "career year" in a short season over just 23 games is the correct call, and the offer I heard they gave to him of 1.5m is IMO entirely justified. MANY players before have come out and played their best hockey during a contract year only to do nothing for the entirety of that contract.
Could he continue to be a great #1 goalie? Sure, its possible. Its also possible he becomes a backup or worse. He needs to put up at least 2 more years of solid play before I'd consider him a true #1 goalie in this league.
Obviously Carolina was hopeful but not overly confident in him.

Ellis alone is not going to help. On the contrary I think Ellis will be a two way stabilizing force they’ve been missing and take them where no ghost could. He’s available!

I agree with a lot of these points - I do think goalies take longer to develop and he is right about at that age where they figure it out, and he ended up being Carolina's go to guy in the playoffs which makes me think (mostly hope) that he has found the skills/mindset to be a number 1. This and an improved Detroit defense with Leddy and Seider coming over should be a good match
