How can i not take it personal when you suggest, I did a really stupid thing, don't you think that's abit personal? I assure you he will sit on my farm and be much much cheaper next season Jake This is exactly why this rule needs to be changed. Rules are not meant to be manipulated in this way. Its not absurd at all to suggest a rule that makes team responsible for part of a dropped players salary. In fact, that idea has been the main idea that keeps coming up in this thread Why is it your opinions are the best Jake. I really find my integerty being questioned when you suggest I manipulated a rule, it is quite offensive to me. I had a strategy in mind and that's all. 50% salary carried by the dropee for a dropped player is absurd just like i said. No you didn't come right out and call me stupid but you implied it.

That is exactly what I'm talking about Ray. Stop taking things so personally. I didn't imply you were stupid at all. I gave my opinion, a very critical opinion, on your unassigned signings. How do you turn that into "Jake is calling me stupid"?
And you did manipulate a rule. Others in this thread have agreed that a loophole in the rules exists, and must be closed. I don't see how you turn that into "questioning your integrity". All I want is to close the loophole, I don't blame you at all for taking advantage of it. Once again, stop taking things so personally.
Being responsible for 50% of a player drops salary is not absurd. Absurd is a strong word, and if it was "absurd" then no one else in the thread would agree. It may be higher than you'd like to see, but earlier in the thread Jon said 35% might be a good number. I'm not the only one suggesting this Ray.
If you formulate a counter argument (other than calling it absurd) I'll read it, but right now you arn't.

LOL I'm waving the white flag Jake, your a good guy, but extremly stubborn. I tell you what, i won't say absurd, as long as you don't say manipulate. How's that work for ya. If down the road, my goalie falls on his face then you can rub it in if you like, because I will if he becomes a success. LOL he was the 2nd highest rated Goalie available and he went to a silent bid the 1st day. This is never an exact science, but I rolled the dice and we'll see.

Good morning everyone! I thought this was over. Anyway we should make adjustments and I am sure staff will bring it to a vote like they always do. They do a great job when things like this happens.
Me, I don't care either way because it really does not affect me at all! The only guy I really overbid on EVER was Moore and that was for a reason of need and I did not bid a contract for years. It was a one year FA contract! I always lose bids every year because I am cheap when it comes to paying someone who I am not sure will be around long.
Actually it really does not affect you either Ray because you only put a 1 year contract on an overpaid guy, as for Leino, I think it will work out for Florida with this guy. Nothing other than a hunch that I base this on, but don't we do things on hunches because there is no exact science on most of these guys.
I agree with Jake that an adjustment needs to be made and it is probably overdue when it comes to salaries for unassigned and unrested guys.
But some changes need to be made but we should be looking how rules made today may effect other things down the road.
I also think that when someone makes a statement about something that it not be made personal, make it about the rule not about the person who may have taken advantage of it. When posting think before hitting the keyboard than read it over and adjust, I lay odds it will remove a lot of BS from the board and personal attacks because someone took something wrong. if it sounds like an attack most likely someone else will take it as one.
Have nice day!

I always lose bids every year because I am cheap when it comes to paying someone who I am not sure will be around long. I hear ya, Everytime I attempt to low ball a decent player, I don't get him, I targeted 5 players, and decided to go for it and I got the 3 I wanted the most.

That's still a no1 goalie, just not elite. I saw him at 8.0B last Sunday, and those numbers do change. I grabbed him in another league about 2 months ago and he was a 7.5C back then too. Maybe you got him confused with another player you were looking at. Just trying to change the subject Problably the guy right above him lol. Any guy you grab, is good enough for me. I missed this post last night.
