I don't thnk this was a bad deal. I passed it Agreed - fairly close deal. Josh Bailey much too young to write off. Kev sees something he likes, maybe foresees what those picks might get him - and would rather have Bailey. Almost a no-brainer to pass.

Bailey is only 21 and has already been in the NHL for three seasons... this is his first season where he hasn't shown progress, but there have been glimpses of it. Most young players have bumps in the road, you can't write him off yet. I think it's a good trade for Florida.
Plus, it's hard to ignore the numbers he just put up in his brief AHL stint.... 11 GP 17 P

That's a huge trade for the Oilers.

That's a huge trade for the Oilers. Now he only needs to drop around 7.3mil, it will be interesting to see how he does that.

He has two extra centers and two extra D on his roster, so if he just sends them down and drops McKee, he'll be under.

But if I drop McKee 35% of his salary will count against my cap.

Then you should probably trade me Miller for Turco to save $600K.
And if that isn't enough, I'd be willing to trade Wolski for Getzlaf to save you $1.5 mil.

Always looking out for me! I appreciate it!
I'll think about and let you know. Even if I don't need those deals to get under the cap, I think you may be on to something.

Under normal circumstances i would reject this deal, but that's highway robbery well deserved for the rangers lol.

I did approve this deal, because you all know my opinion on rejecting deals, but I'll find it kind of interesting if this deal goes through without issue after all the grief that Ray and I got for our trade a little while ago.

I passed it for the same reason, NY gets a couple of lower 6 forwards who are gettin long in the tooth and a 3rd, for pullin Edm., out of a jam. Mcgee FA at seasons end could be a plus for the Rangers only if he can be moved at the trade deadline.

That isn't too bad for Edmonton. Good job by the Rangers taking advantage of the situation.
