Maybe he asked for those guys and was turned down. He makes good trades because he deals from a position of strength and knows what he wants. He definitely wins this trade, but I'm not voting no. I look back at some of my trades and wish they were voted down and this may be the case here too. It may not.

5-11 to reject is a clear rejection.

5-11 to reject is a clear rejection. Actually 12- 4 since Ron wants his yes vote changed to no, 1 more reject vote would make it 13, which is an automatic reject. Kinda cool how that works and why we have a really neat league. The league rejects the trade like an arbitrator would and stats that said team should be better compensated for said players.

This is not saying anything about this trade because JGHL and NHL are different. As an Oiler fan, if we get Allen and Diaz for Whitney and a draft pick I'd shake my head. I think they should trade Horcoff, Whitney and Khabibulin to the Predators for Shea Weber and Pekka Rinne. At least that's what the radio callers probably say if I listened to radio.

Ya I'm on the fence about that one too haha. I rejected it, and I can't remember the last time I rejected two trades in a season.

I passed the last trade (Ryan Whitney one), but was leaning heavy to reject it as well. Jake Allen looks like a real good one. *** re: my trade with Ducks. Al & I have been discussing for a longtime. He had specific players he wanted and this is where the trade went.
I can see why some of you rejected it and we are trying to rework it. I don't think it's fair to say things like - "oh if Subban, Huberdeau and OEL are not part of this deal, it should be rejected". If that's the case, I may make another move...
Just a few other considerations:
Skinner has had 2 concussions already.
Staal has rebounded this yr, but just last season he was a -20 which was by far the worst on the squad (+/- has its limitations, but when you are -5 more than another player on your team it is telling)
Stastny could use a change of scenery or a new coach - one of the two likely not far off. When I was dealing Bouwmeester earlier I said he will be a different player under Hartley. Love him or hate him, he has played well under the new coach.
Kindl is already a plus 15 and has a respectable 9 pts.
Sutter has been a beast for the Pens.
EJ is still just 25. *** The rework:
I have removed Emery & the 1st as part of the return and we are potentially exchanging prospects to favour the Ducks further. I'd hope this would be enough to satisfy the masses...
But...it may not happen as we are both a little gunshy now to pull the trigger. We'll see.

One last point on trades:
Remember the old rule of supply and demand...
Al (Ducks) has had his trade block up for quite some time...If someone had such a more lucrative offer for him, where was it?

I will only say this: Al is very active in trade talks. I have dealt with him many times. When I saw the trade you guys had sent in, I was blown away not by the fact that it was a good trade for you, but by the fact that Al would accept that trade. With great respect to both Al and Chris, this was one of the easier trades to reject.

I've had Horcoff on the block for a second rounder for a while. If I don't get a second rounder, the trade isn't worth it to me. I've received other offers but they weren't second rounders. I'm happy to keep him rather than accept what I don't want. Not that Al is taking stuff he doesn't want, I've already stated my thoughts on the trade, but just that the supply doesn't meet my demand so I'm not forcing a deal. I just ate pizza

Man you go away for 2 days and miss all the fun. Sorry to have missed the vote but it seems like it wouldn't have mattered anyways.
I would have voted yes but seem to be in the minority here hopefully they can work it out and satisfy the masses.

I'd love to make another move, however...after looking through the complete lineup of available players from the bottom half of the league (and even a few still in the playoff picture), I simply cannot work out a deal in my head that could possibly work. So what I personally have, will have to be enough. Cup or bust

Wow, I thought there would be alot more trades going on with 4 days left in deadline....Guess everyone has what they need to win it all.... I think we discussed this a month or two ago. We have actually seen MORE trades this season than any in the recent past, they just happened early. Not to mention the fact that the biggest blockbuster of all was vetoed. I think there is some reluctance on the part of GMs at the top to really go all out and mortgage the future as we have seen in years past. And that will serve the top 7-8 teams very well.... Unless one decides to go for it
