I thought there where enough moves by top teams, most of us did them early, and some are still tryin. LOL Mostly done by you as usual, but there are teams holding pat like usual which is why the same cast of characters win I guess, they make the moves needed whiles others sit pat.....I wish I was making trades but did all mine so now it is wait and see if it all works out...may take a number of seasons for me.....LOL

Rebuilds take awhile, gotta have some good luck to go with them, and some good signings to compliment your prospects that did turn out well. Took me about 4 years to get back into a winning record, 5 to be really competitive again. I didn't do everything right, probably could have happened sooner, but if you're smart and patient, it does happen eventually

Just to let you guys know, the Erik Karlsson involved in the Lydman deal is a forward prospect, drafted by Carolina in the 4th Rd 012.

Respect the trade voting process, but unfortunately in my case I was left unable to make a couple of upgrades at the deadline. Partly my own fault as well, as I put all my eggs in one basket (I thought appropriate Easter analogy).
Behind the scenes: We had lots of good discussions after the rejection to rework the deal and were really close a couple of times up just before the deadline, to no avail.
Keep in mind when analyzing trades in the future this quote, as no one knows what will happen in hockey with respect to players, their progress, their injury status, etc. etc.
"Anyone who thinks they have a monopoly on truth, and there is only one way to see the world, always gets us into trouble." - Charles Schumer
Good luck for the rest of the season, lads.

HAhaha, I saw you post that quote on Facebook before I read it here. I figured it must have been about some political cause or human rights violation. But nope, just jghl zealotry! Hilarious.

Wow a lot of trades happened since the last time I logged in this morning.
The new Anaheim/Calgary trade was a lot better. Calgary fills a big hole by adding Timonen for this season.

Timonen is a huge pickup for Calgary. He gets a much needed puck mover on the blueline. Now I think he can really compete with the rest of the top half of that conference.
Timonen was the defenseman I was most interested in acquiring myself, but salary pretty much prevented that deal...and I liked the prospect of getting Elias a bit more anyway.

I think the additions of Staal, Timonen, and Leopold pretty much just made Calgary the team to beat in our conference. He plugged all of his holes with 2 moves, and didnt have to give up any significant roster player. Gonna be a tough battle in the Gretzky conference.
