Would you like to see a restriction put in for the maximum number of games a goalie can start?
Last season in the NHL the leader for games started was 64 starts. In our league we had 14 goalies over 70 starts.....
Anderson - 81 Niemi - 81 Rinne - 80 Smith - 80 Luongo - 77 Dubnyk - 76 Lehtonen - 76 Backstrom - 75 Howard - 75 Ward - 74 Bryzgalov - 71 Price - 72 Rask - 70 Holtby - 70

Before I vote - Jon is it possible to just increase the fatigue settings?

Before I vote - Jon is it possible to just increase the fatigue settings? Yes, but that would make the middle of the pack and weaker EN goalies even weaker.

To make it a bit more strategic I voted Yes.

You guys realize that means using your back-up every 5th-6th game(I think 67 - 15 is what was indicated). I'm for adjusting the fatigue factor a tad from last season. So my vote was no.

To make it a bit more strategic I voted Yes. It definitely adds more thought and strategy to game planning. Do you get your back-up starts out of the way early so you can finish strong with your starter? Do you ride your starter early in the season to try and build a lead in the standings? Or do you space it out and play it evenly? I think it will also impact participation as nobody is gonna wanna be fighting for a spot/positioning down the stretch knowing they have to play their back-up. I think we should try it for a season at least and see how it goes.

I voted yes. But that may hinge on what the exact limit is. I'd like a 70-76 game limit with increased fatigue settings. Kiprusoff in his prime was playing 74-76 game seasons, so it can happen in the NHL too, but it is rare.

I just fear what it would do to lower EN goalies who can only play 30-35 games as it is, would it cut them down to 20-25? That's rough for a team who doesn't have an elite starter and swaps out goalies. Plus adjusting the fatigue settings is almost impossible to test. I'd couldn't just run a season real quick, I'd have to sim every single day and switch out goalies for every team (as if a GM was running it) to simulate what a regular GM would down and not run goalies down to 95CD, which is what would happen if I ran a test season.

That's what happens in real life, Ray. Goalies don't start 70, 75 or even 80 games these days. Having a capable backup and managing your goalies starts is part of the job as GM/Coach in the NHL and it should be in our league as well.

There will be a premium for back-up Goalies. I'll take 3 Ist's and a 2nd for Pavelec.

I like making backup goalies more important, I don't think Fatigue settings are gonna resolve this, so I agree with game limiting.

68-72 MAX GAMES
If team wants to use top guy more then maybe there is a way to set them at 97 or 98 after they reach max. Probably not a way to do that is sim but just a thought

I think making the league more like the NHL and adding a bit more randomness into the sim are both good things so this seems like a no-brainer change to me.
I would say 65-70 is a good limit but I have two very good goalies so I understand if my support of this seems to come from a bit of a biased standpoint but since I am not going to compete this year and could easily move one I do think this is best for league and not just fitting for my team at the moment.

I would put the max at 60-65. 70 is too high. You should use a backup for more than 12 games for the whole year.
Don't lower the EN or else you get the situation where both your goalies are 97 or 98 and then you need a third goalie.
