Any advice for a guy who's getting married next year? Yes, but basically simple. 1. Never go to bed angry 2. Always apologize even if she is 100% wrong, she comes around after realizing she was. 3. Always rememebr the last 5 words she says, because when your not listening and as us men do not listen to a lot our wives say especially as we get older, so I say last 5 words she says and hope she thinks I heard whole think as I shake my head yes. These days been doing so long she does not fall for it that much. 4. Cook! My wife married me because I made her Veal Saltimbocca when we first moved in together. 5' Laugh, Joke, don't take everything so seriously. Last: Always communicate with each other and be there for each other no matter what! By the way, guessing your engaged now so this applies now too! This is awesome!!! Cooking's not my strong suit but I might have to learn....

My vet clinic is now taking only emergencies and pet owners aren’t allowed into the hospital. Hopefully the government takes action to temporarily defer business loans or something or most small businesses will not come out of this if it lasts more than a couple of months.

Canadians have been advised to return home, so that is what I’m doing. I’m devastated as I worked so hard to build a life out here. I feel like it has all come to an abrupt end.

Sorry to hear that man, we've had a couple of local business people loved already come out with saying "if we have to close down, we probably won't make it" which has sucked. Meanwhile my work is still open and I'm not sure if that's the best decision for us, but at the same time how do I not report to work in risk of losing my job? It's a weird situation. I'd almost rather the government put something into effect.

Sorry to hear Jake. If it's any comfort, I got laid off yesterday for the first time in my life. It's a business development/recruitment job so I get it but still kinda sucks. Have to apply for unemployment but it's almost impossible to get through right now.
It's like a really long episode of Twilight Zone or Black Mirror. Come to think both those shows are likely predictive programming to get us all used to this type of shit.

So sorry to hear, Jake man. That's such crazy, weird, & yes devastating scenario to be thrown into. Hang in there and hope everything comes together somehow for you.

Well live animal transport has been embargoed by Canada. There is no information about this online, you have to stay on hold for hours with all of the major airlines to get the info. So it came down to either leaving my pets behind or just isolating here and I chose the latter. I didn’t feel comfortable in Hawaii given the curve the US is currently on, the complete lack of meaningful action from the state of Hawaii, the still constant flow of tourists, the cases doubling in 48 hours here, and the relative lack of ICU beds.
It seems like much of the US is still just coming to terms with this. It feels like Americans think they are immune to what happened in Italy, but right now the US is on that path. By the time people in power accept the circumstances it might be too late.

I recommend viewing of MSNBC. Don't listen to Trump. Many of us are staying home. Most people are not going to work. They closed all our beaches here, finally. Our Gov is an idiot for not closing them sooner. Alot of states are starting to lock down. Gavin works for a small business, and he was told not to come in the other day, my daughters are staying home from their jobs, I had to help all of them out with their bills. It sucks. All our schools are closed here.
Gavin lives in Virgina, both my daughters live in the Chicago area.
