Kevin has given the Wild a four year window to bring a championship home. We feel this first year is just putting the pieces in place for years two, three and four. The defense is now set with offensive defenseman Brian Campbell leading the way, along with him the Wild have two-way defenseman Kevin Bieksa to help shoulder some of the offense responsibility. Paul Ranger will help round out the offense from the back end. To go along with these three offensive pieces are Mike Komisarek who happens to be an emerging defensive defenseman, could be one of the best in the game in two or three years. We also have Steve Staios the vet of the group and is known for his excellent defensive presence and leadership. Christopsh Shubert rounds out the top six, at 6’3 235lbs he has all the potential in the world to develop into a monster. The defense has been put into place for the next four seasons.
The forward core will have strength up the middle, future star center Anze Kopitar will lead the charge as soon as next season and Danius Zubrus is the perfect fit as a number two. Tomas Plekanec has the ability to be an amazing two-way 3rd line center. Peter Schaefer is the only productive winger though so over the next while the Wild will look to add to the core. This is where a Roberto Luongo deal may come in play and look to bolster his offense some. Wingers with average offensive ability should be able to look good though playing with strong playmaking centers.
The goaltender of this group is yet to be determined but an above average goalie is all that will be needed. Just someone that can keep the team in games and allow the roster to win it. Look for the Wild to fight for the 8th playoff spot this season, become a 4th-6th place team next year and in the final two years of the plan become a cup contender.
As for the future beyond that it will start all over again. Don’t expect to see Bieksa along with players like Ranger resigned at the end of his current deal. The team will be built around offense in four years with Kopita leading the way surrounded by players such as White, Giroux, Zagrapen and whoever else the Wild bring in to surround Kopitar. Campbell and Komisarek will still be around but all the cap space that opens up after these four year contracts are expired will allow the Wild to attack the free agent market again and put another four year plan into motion. The Wild will always hover around being a good to great team and that’s how it should be with most clubs.

I know you hate that 10m contract, but in honestly, good goalies go for primo cash, I'd think he would be worth having 1 highly paid player if its somebody like Luongo

The Wild will always hover around being a good to great team and that’s how it should be with most clubs. for a guy who has never won a game in this league, you sure talk about your GM abilities a lot. You'll probably have to win the Cup shortly to live up to the bar that you've set here.

I like playing my shutdown center on my top line, personal preference. Matching up my hard nosed guy against the opposing teams best center and isolating him all game long. I never look at overall when evaluating talent Forsberg is nice has a 76ST, 71IT and 72DF but I see a shutdown center as someone who has a 80+IT,ST and a 75+DF. Just how I like rolling lines, have a big shutdown guy make the opposing teams top line disappear.

I give you alot of credit for improving your defense so much, but you have alot of other issues to clear up before you should even be thinking about winning a cup. The two ? on either side of Kopitar next season won't win you many games, niether will Schaefer/Eaves on the 2nd line.
Also, I wouldn't critisize a team whose top 5 centers are Datsyuk Forsberg, Lombardi, Steen and Parise either.

I realize GMs have different views on personel. I like having a big shutdown guy. As for the wingers, we here in Minnesota have realized how bleak it looks but having two strong and good playmaking centers should help open space for my wingers so just need four guys to have a 70 in scoring and I will be more then happy.

There are only 5 players in this league with an IT of at least 80 AND a DF rating of at least 75. Three are dmen and only one is a center. And without looking it up, there's know way you'd ever guess who it was.....

I have not really checked the ratings of this league so have to go into deeper insight of what the value of each players ratings are. whats good and whats bad. In my other league my examples of a shutdown center would be good as there are a few centers around those ratings.
