I'm happy with Pushkarev. I think he will fit into the new NHL well and I got him at a decent price. I may use him as trade bait though...

Just my opinion on the trading of them. I would not trade a thing for anyone just signed, even though they may be a good player. In fact, I wouldn't claim him on waivers (unless I was prepared to match the offer and he signed with them instead of me). Free agents have zero trade value to me.

J-F Jacques was a monster pickup for this franchise. Has so much raw talent. 6'4 230lbs Throws two hits a game, love the physical game Has that hands to pot 20-30 goals a year Has good speed and is very aware defensively He is my FHL sleeper in my other league I think his ratings one day could be. 75-80IT 72SP 85ST 70PA 70-76SC 70-75DF What more could you ask for in a power forward? I got him at 217lbs, and I know he's young and doesn't really get much ice time, but no points in 26 games? Not even a single assist? Averaging a PPG in the AHL, when he realizes he can do it at the NHL level he will. He has grew some too, just like Schubert is listed at 213lbs according to TSN hes now 235.

I see JF every game he plays and I think you are vastly over estimating that young man's potential. He does not have the wheels nor the hands to become the player you are describing, especially playing for a team like the Oilers. He has earned the nickname "Crazy Train" for a reason though. You are probably looking at more of a Mike Grier than a Cam Neely.

I see no reason why he could not pot 20-30 goals a season, play responsable defense and average two hits a game. He is a player that will be more valuable in the sim then in real life.

There is a bit of a difference between the AHL and the NHL. Peter White? Brad Smyth? Jon Slaney? How did those AHL superstars work out in the NHL?
You may have seen him in Hamilton, but I see him in Edmonton... different competition.
It is a lot easier to score on Valiquette, LaBarbera and Leighton than it is to score on Kipper, Turco and Luongo.

Thats nice... and its my feeling that Stempniak isn't a #1 LW... or even a #2... so I'd keep looking for those wingers your missing.

He can push people around and is averaging a PPG in the AHL right now. He will be a good solid player in 3-4 years.

Upside of a 30-35 goal scorer. May not be a number 1 LW yet but I will take those numbers in two years.

Coach Jacques Martin has announced the Wild lineup for the upcoming season. Its not impressive at all but should get better as they years go by. We have decided to build the team on defense to slow down some of the offenses in our Conference. Heres my first lineup. The goal is 8th place, lets see what we can do.
Peter Schaefer - Bobby Holik - Dainius Zubrus Lee Stempniak - Jeff Halpern - Trent Hunter Marcus Nilson - Tomas Plekanec - Turner Stevenson Josef Vasicek - Jason Wiemer - Mark Rycroft
Steve Staios - Mike Komisarek Brian Campbell - Kevin Bieksa Paul Ranger - Christoph Schubert
Roberto Luongo Martin Biron John Grahame
PP
Lee Stempniak - Jeff Halpern - Dainius Zubrus Brian Campbell - Paul Ranger
Peter Schaefer - Bobby Holik - Trent Hunter Steve Staios - Brian Campbell
PK
Peter Schaefer - Bobby Holik Steve Staios - Mike Komisarek
Marcus Nilson - Tomas Plekanec Kevin Bieksa - Christoph Schubert

Rumors a re circulating that a Western conference team has inquired about Roberto Luongo and the frame work has been put into place for a deal. What a team in the West has to ask themselves is does another team getting Luongo hamper their teams chances at a cup.
