Interesting spread of dollars throughout the available UFAs. Some dudes gettin' PAID! Some guys might be had at a bargain...or will they! *** Bryan Rust the only RFA offer sheet is a little surprising... *** Friendly reminder: bidding rules: (this will likely come into play tomorrow) To bid on a player that is set to close that day (marked as $) you must make a minimum raise of $250k (first bid only) To bid on a player that is set to close that day (marked as $) AND you have NOT previously bid on that player then you must make a minimum raise of $500k (first bid only) More info in this thread: jghl.proboards.com/thread/772/important-read-instructions

That Tarasenko offer though. That's a solid play by Oilers.

Definitely wouldn't take the comp either, but losing out on 1.5 more of salary cap just to keep a guy you already have....ouch! RFAs and their contracts definitely make things interesting!

Thanks Jake, after watching him play last night in a pre-season game and fail to stop a beachball against Detroits all OHL/AHL roster, I'm happy to get my million back for Ward.

Well he does have a 1st in 019. I think he should have been asked if he was willing to give up the first, in place of the 2nd, I'm pretty sure that's what we've done in the past.

We haven't done that in the past because I don't think its come up before now. I'd rather not though.

I think it has, but that decision is for you and Jon to make. IMO if I guy offers a bigger pick over a lessor pick, cause he doesn't have the lessor pick, it should fly. JMO

Is cap space even an issue for you? Its always an issue eventually! I'm spending this year while thinking of next year too, I have a 5.4m contract coming back and whatever Dahlin gets in his first rating to consider too, so every dollar means something

JMO I'd allow it only if the bidder specifically stated "I don't have the correct comp, this is the comp I'm offering instead" (with it being better picks). Don't wanna have to check on shit and then send a message about it, etc, don't want the babysitting basically.
