It's a bit murky but I think you should still be able to bid on unassigned if you're sitting at over 50 roster players. The rule implies you have to be 50 or under by season start, so it's up to the GM how they want to manage that. There's enough time from end of unassigned until season start to allow someone to make the necessary moves, it just obviously makes it a lot more difficult if you're 5-6 players over 50, as opposed to just 1.

But if he makes pick-ups, it could be more than one. If he has to dump or trade on opening day, it could affect the season start, if he's playing that day.

Right, that's why they would have more than a day to make moves to shave it down to 50. It's obviously easier said than done though.

They will have until the day before the season starts to get down to the maximum of 50 via trading, otherwise I will drop players of my choice.

With Unassigned coming up, I'd like to request everyone spend at least a little effort formatting a readable claim and bid. Full player names, make sure you spell them correctly (copy/paste is your friend), don't put fresh claims on day 2 players that are into bidding phase, remember you don't bid salary unless that player goes into bidding phase, so no 5m contract offers day 1 please. Using either 2 separate messages or good post formatting, please separate fresh claims and new bids clearly. All this helps me keep everything organized and correct so there are fewer accidents and mistakes. Thank you.

Remember when drafting, you don't have to wait til your assigned pick time to pick, providing you're on the Clock. Good Luck
